7th November 2009 St Annes v WTJFC Result 4-1 4-0
Everyone performed well today against stiff opposition and attrocious climatic conditions, who played nothing but their best, of which no-one can ever reproach them for. Although the score line didn't run in our favour, the fact that we all played our hearts out and competed to the best of our abilities against the odds speaks volumes for you as players. A huge well done to everyone concerned and I am proud of all the players who are great ambassadors for the Club. In the first match one player stood out from the rest of the team with a display of solid defending, showing great patience yet strength in the tackle when the interception was made; Joshua Mason, who was the obvious candidate for Man of the Match trophy played an outstanding match. Well done Joshua. The other Man of the Match trophy went to our newest recruit Alex Peters, who again showed great strength in defence and quickness of pace. I am sure we shall see greater things to come from Alex who's game is maturing all the time. Another big well done to Alex who only came on as a substitute at the beginning of the second half but I feel helped to change the course of the game. Performances from Ben Rawcliffe, Jack Worwick, Lewis Reilly and again William Holmes and are all worthy of a mention and commmendation. ( Hold on a minute I better be careful and leave it there or I'll end up mentioning the whole team again!)
