Match Report Coulton Cup - 12-12-09

12th December 2009          WTJFC   v's     Poulton Town         Result     1-4         8-1

Well played everyone.  A great team effort and just rewards for eveyones commitment.

Recognition of indiviual efforts went to Joe Wisnewski and Alex Peters. Joe, who had great game, battled throughout, and made some great challenges for the ball and gained possession on numerous occasions for us. He took a knock in the face, came off, and later went back on to continue. Well done Joe. What a great player Alex is turning out to be. He put in some great challenges and vital blocks at the right time and has pace in defence and is reading the game better.

Commendations should also go to Jack Worswick and Lewis Reilly in nets making some vital saves, and keeping us in the match.  Jake Russel gave another show of fantastic defending and Ben Rawcliffe, George Disley and Oliver Seers showed why we are playing them up front. These three today all looked threatening whenever they received the ball and had the opposition on the back foot. Well done. Keep it up. George was on form today with his dribbling skills and was a definite contender for the Man of the Match trophy with his hat trick of goals, but it is also about saving goals from going in our net and not switching off once an attack has finished. Players must suddenly switch to a defensive mode and protect our goal. It was down to Alex to break many of the attacks down in the first half of the second match otherwise the score may have been slightly different from the final result
