Match report St Annes
13th February 2010 WTJFC v's St Annes Result 0-2 1-5
What a great team effort! When everyone puts in their 100% effort and put pressure on the ball, the team plays better. What we need to concentrate on is to close down attackers when they have the ball. We conceeded two goals, the rest of the time we played some great football when some great passing! Ewan Satterthwaite played another excellent game, second week on the trot, and on for the hat-trick!
Man of the Match for Hawks went to Andrew Wiggins who gave it his all and impressed the coaches with some great, strong defending when it was needed. Well done Andrew! It is a good sign when you come off red-faced and panting for breath! - it means you have given it everything!
Except for a few instances throughout the match it was a fantastic display of solid defending. Outstanding defensive play from Anthony Flethcher won him the Man of the Match trophy. Anthony was likened to a terrier after the ball. His commitment was second to none! Some exceptional saves from the goalkeeper, Jack Worswick showed what a great keeper he is turning out to be. Well done Jack. Ben Rawcliffe again showed great commitment right to the dying seconds when he scored a breakaway goal showing fantastic determination with his never say die philosophy; he is an example to us all. Extremely well done, Ben!
