HOME Friendly v Warton Typhoons Under 10s

Match 1:  Under 9s 1 Under 10s 2

Match 2:  Under 9s 2 Under 10s 2

Jez and I were overwhelmed with the level of skill and team play that both under 9s teams showed. I am sure there were many proud parents out there on the touchline today.  Man of the Match trophies went to Reeves Burr who played nothing short of outstanding in a defensive role, who was first to the ball every time and make some great passes but made some even better runs of defence; and also to Paul Cain who exhibited some fabulous ball control and passing. To those that didn't get the trophies this week, do not be disheartened because if you play like you did today by not giving up and having that fighting team spirit you will get the trophy!

In the second game, we played fantasically well but in the end unsurprisingly were beginning to get quite tired.  However, for much of the game, we pressed the play really well and to play against a team that was a year older and 'hold your own' against them was nothing short of outstanding.  A coach from another team who hadn't seen the teams before had to ask which was the older team because he could not tell from abilities of the players. That is a compliment indeed and something for which you should be very proud of!

Most of you already know that Tom Wharton broke his collar bone down at training last night. We wish Tom a speedy recovery and thanks everyone for signing the get well card and I have given Tom a football on behalf of Warton Typhoons with the 'get well' card.
