Club History

Warton Typhoons was formed in 1999 by Graeme Hall and Steve Williams and grew as a result of their own sons and a handful of local children expressing an interest in the game.

From 6 children kicking a ball about, Warton Typhoons has grown into a successful Junior Football Club with nearly 200 members in 9 age groups ranging from 6yrs to 16yrs.
We now have Under 16’s, 15’s, 14’s, 12’s & 11’s who compete in the Blackpool and District Domino’s Pizza League and Under 10's & Under 9’s teams who compete in the Poulton and District Primary League.
We also have an Under 7’s & 8’s squad, which is aimed at providing players for future Under 9 teams.

In 2003 the Lancashire Football Association granted Warton Typhoons Junior Football Club Chartership status and this was renewed in November 2007. This means that the club is part of a nationally recognised framework of stringent operating procedures and rules. At present only a small percentage of local clubs have been granted this prestigious award.
